Welcome to the Old Edwardians’ Association

President

Messrs Edensor, Cole and Mould

We are delighted that you have found your way to this web site. We hope that it will provide access to lots of stories about the school and, of course, its 'old boys' in 'The Staffordian' which you can read via the links on the dedicated page. The school motto of Incepta Persequor (finish well that which you start) set the tone for both our learning and life after King Edward's.

Sadly, although the buildings still stand, the old school on Newport Road was closed as a Grammar School in 1977 and the students moved to King Edward VI High School, West Way to merge with the Girls' High School.

Aims of the Association

First and foremost the aim of the Association is to foster friendships made whilst attending the school and preserve the memories and traditions.

Any boy who attended what was at the time King Edward VI Grammar School, in Newport Road, Stafford is an OLD EDWARDIAN and will be made most welcome at any of the events organised. To join the Association, current subscription £8.00 per calendar year, please contact Mark Ashton via this link or phone him on 01952 820937.

The Association keeps an interest in the old school buildings and their preservation. We maintain links with the successor to 'our' school - King Edward VI High School and also Stafford Grammar School.

Activities

Stafford Old Edwardians' Association has an active membership of almost 250 old boys. We meet at dinners, games evenings and memorial services - see the 'Events Diary' page. Old boys travel from far and wide to attend the highlight of our year, the Annual Dinner held in Stafford soon after the clocks 'go forward' at the end of March each year.
